When you walk into a client’s home and they have an apple green kitchen, Chinese red bathroom, and periwinkle bedroom, you know right away it’s not going to be an ordinary project. Heidi says that when we met I told her she was “a color rebel,” and she was surprised when I said we should keep the green color. She didn’t know it but I had just that week spotted a vibrant wallpaper that matched exactly, and I knew it could become the basis for an interesting room. We did the kitchen first, then the bathroom, and finally, her living room, building on the colorful palette and incorporating her vast collection of theater posters, pottery, books and mementos.
